Turkish-greek Friendly Football Match That Will Be Played In Chios Island

A Turkish-Greek friendly football match between Karşıyaka and Lailapas will be played in Chios Island on 10 May 2014 Saturday. The match will be played after 84 years for the completion of the match between the two teams on 7 December 1930 in Chios. The match had been called off just after three minutes of play due to heavy rain in Chios Island. That match was the first friendly football match between Turkey and Greece played in Greek territories after the Turkish-Greek population exchange.

On this occasion, for the purposes of watching the match, meeting with the local officials before the opening of the tourism season and to discussing issues like transportation, our Ambassador will visit the Chios Island.
