Syrian Maya Meri, who was seen trying to maintain her life with an equipment made of can by his father was brought to Turkey to gain prosthetic legs via Red Crescent and turned to her country.
Maya was brought in Turkey with the attempts of President of Red Crescent Dr. Kerem Kınık and she gained prosthetic legs through the surgery of Red Crescent volunteer Dr. Mehmet Zeki Çulcu. After a 3-month treatment, Maya turned back to her country with her father. The happiness of Maya and her father reflected on their faces when their passing processes was performed by the Red Crescent Team at Cilvegözü Border Gate in Reyhanlı district of Hatay.
“We will be able to send Maya to school by walking”
Maya’s father Muhammed Ali Meri stating that he and his daughter were taken a great care and gained prosthetic legs said “Our treatments completed and thank God, now we are turning back to our home. We will be able to send Maya to school by walking from now on when we turn back.”
